4/16/Ninety5 The owners of Vandiver Mall, Knight Valley LLC (KV LLC), is purchased by Garland Ford Mall Group (GFMG). 7/19/98 Venture closes at Vandiver Mall. 8/2/98 Venture is put up for lease. 10/8/98 Dill ard's closes. 12/12/98 A pipe burst inside the bathroom in the Venture causes serious damage to the store. Its deemed unsafe until it was repaired. GFMG boards up the structure instead of fixing it to save money. 6/2/99 The Venture wing of the mall is sealed off as mold begins to spread. GFMG attempts to fix the damage. 2/29/00 The damage caused by the pipe burst is fixed, but the cosmetic damage is not. Venture remains sealed. Its wing is also sealed to prevent people from trying to sneak into the Venture, and because some unrelated damage was detected during the mold cleanup. 5/28/05 The former Stix / Dill ards's building is unlocked so potential lessees can look at the property. This is the buildings final chance at gaining a tenant before it gets demolished.
